Our collaboration with Scopely on a series of motion comics for Star Trek Fleet Command continued with this episode, called Hurak Invasion. It jumps to a different storyline and features Christina Chong reprising her role as La’an Noonien-Singh.
In this 2.5D animation, the story opens with House Hurak’s sudden attack on Emyliss III. Facing an escalating Klingon threat, La’an and the Realta’s crew are driven to the edge in a desperate struggle for survival.
It has been a true pleasure to work with the team at Scopely and Paramount on such an amazing IP, and we're incredibly proud of our team of artists who brought this episode to life so beautifully. More episodes to come!

As with all our projects, we followed a clearly defined production pipeline that enabled regular check-ins and approvals with Scopely and Paramount. The process began with storyboarding Brian Lelas’ script. Because motion comics are built from static paintings with limited animation, we placed a strong emphasis on visual storytelling through strong compositions that transitioned smoothly from shot to shot.
From there, we developed detailed layouts for both environments and characters, which were then digitally painted on a per-shot basis. Each shot was fully layered, including individual character body parts and facial features, allowing for nuanced animation and precise lip-sync. In the compositing stage, all elements were brought together and elevated through camera movement, additional effects and animation, and a final color grade.
